Week 1

  • Wed, Jul 2 - Holiday Planning: This seminar is designed to help you plan for the added expenses of the holidays and special events. We will discuss strategies to avoid overspending and accumulating excessive debt.
  • Thu, Jul 3 - Banking Essentials: This seminar explains how to choose financial services and institutions to meet your needs. Basic information on banking and checking accounts and other financial services will be provided.
  • Fri, Jul 4 - No Meeting: Holiday - Have a great July 4th!

Week 2

  • Wed, Jul 9 - Building Strong Credit: This seminar discusses the information found on a credit report - what it is used for, and how it can affect you financially. Learn about the three major credit reporting agencies and what they do with your information. Recognize which factors usually increase your credit risk in the eyes of these reporting agencies.
  • Thu, Jul 10 - Stress Management​​​​​​​: This seminar addresses stressors and stress management; attendees will learn about the science behind stress and its physiological and mental effects. Presented by KIRK AFWC.
  • Fri, Jul 11 - Divorce and Finance:​​​​​​​ The financial effects of divorce are stressful! The goal of this class is to help reduce uncertainty associated with the financial aspects of divorce. We’ll share information to help you make smart, informed financial decisions so you can emerge from your divorce with greater financial confidence.

Week 3

  • Wed, Jul 16 - Planning for Retirement​​​​​​​: This seminar offers important retirement information and provides useful insights to people who are planning for retirement, and those already retired who are rethinking their retirement finances.
  • Thu, Jul 17 - Permanent Change of Stations​​​​​​​: A PCS assignment presents exciting opportunities but can also come with some financial challenges. This seminar increases awareness to the financial support that is available to service members and their families who have received a new assignment.
  • Fri, Jul 18 - Consumer Awareness: This seminar introduces consumer rights as stipulated by Federal and State laws. It discusses specific rights for Service Members. It also reviews steps to take appropriate action if you fall victim to predatory financial practices.

Week 4

  • Wed, Jul 23 - Exploring Digital Assets: This seminar will discuss what Cryptocurrency is and what you should know before investing.
  • Thu, Jul 24 - Achieving Financial Wellness Like a Millionaire: This seminar will teach you how to meet your current and future financial goals and feel secure in your financial future.
  • Fri, Jul 25 - Survivor Benefit Plan: This seminar will assist you in making informed decisions about SBP’s role in your retirement plan.

Week 5

  • Wed, Jul 30 - Preparing to Rent: This seminar is designed to increase the knowledge and comfort level of first-time renters, and to serve as a refresher for current renters.
  • Thu, Jul 31 - Car Buying Strategies: Purchasing a car can be a difficult and frustrating process. This seminar will teach you how to negotiate with dealers for the best price and explore how you can save hundreds, if not thousands of dollars on your next vehicle purchase! In addition, discussion will help you determine how much car you can afford.
